Instructional Support Services

Learner Support and Transition

Welcome to the Learner Support and Transition Division.

We provide instruction for individuals who want to improve their academic skills, complete their GED or high school credential, prepare for college level classes, or improve English language skills in our English Language Learners (ELL) program.

We offer multiple different programs of instruction and a variety of specialized services for unique student populations. These services and classes are offered in day and evening programs at multiple locations within the Western Technical College district.

Each year we help thousands of individuals achieve their educational and training goals. To find out what programs and classes are right for you contact your nearest Western location (La Crosse, Tomah, Mauston, Sparta and Independence).

GED Testing requirements have changed as of January 1, 2014.  Any tests completed prior to 2014 are no longer valid.  For more information about the new requirements, please visit the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
