English Language Learners (ELL)

GOAL provides English Language Learners (ELL) classes and labs for students who wish to develop more proficient English skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. These classes are offered at various times throughout the district and students can join most classes at anytime.

The ELL program is open to students of all levels of proficiency from no English to highly advanced. Students may enroll in classes and labs appropriate to their ELL level. High-level ELL students may enroll in International classes. International students may also work with a conversation partner. Conversation partners are volunteers who devote time each week to conversing with ELL students in English.

ELL students must present proof of residency or a valid VISA or current status papers in order enroll in Western classes. ELL classes and labs are offered free to Wisconsin residents. Non-resident students may be required to pay tuition and fees.
