Academic Success Center
The Academic Success Center, C-227, provides free academic support to students currently. Instructors in communications, reading, and study skills provide individualized help/guidance for students in course work and/or to upgrade necessary basic skills.
Each semester the ASC offers six study skill seminars, Time Management, Textbook Reading Techniques, Note-taking Tips, Memory Strategies, Objective Test Taking. Printed seminar schedules are available in the ASC and on the ASC website. A brief computerized Learning Styles Inventory is offered in the ASC for students to take to identify their dominant learning style. This is followed by a one-on-one conference with a staff member to discuss appropriate study strategies for successful learning. Contact Kimberly at email@example.com to make an appointment. The Center coordinates the college's Peer Tutoring program which offers tutors for most college classes. Peer Tutors are trained by ASC staff and provide free tutoring if needed.
The ASC provides testing rooms for students needing special testing accommodations. Please call 608.785.9198 for more information.
ASC hours during fall and spring semesters are: Monday, 7:45-12:15 & 1:30-4:00, Tuesday-Thursday, 7:45-4:00; Friday, 7:45-3:30. Instructors are available Monday, 8:05-12:15 & 1:30-3:30, Tuesday-Thursday, 8:05-3:30 and Friday 9:10-1:20. The ASC is closed on Mondays during the Open Hour, 12:15-1:30.
