Peer Tutor
Struggling in one of your classes?
A peer tutor might help!
If you need a tutor, here's what you do:
- Talk to your class instructor, asking for a tutor
- Your instructor will identify a student willing to tutor
- The tutor will be trained in the ASC
- Tutor and tutee will arrange 2 to 3 hours per week for tutoring
- Stop at the ASC (Coleman 227) to complete paperwork
Tutoring services are free! Don't get swamped! Get help early!
Faculty Recommending Peer Tutor Process
The ASC strongly promotes helping instructors retain students. Our peer tutor program is designed to facilitate student retention/success. We hope you will help by recommending peer tutor support to students who could benefit from these services. To arrange for a tutor, follow the process below.
- select a qualified student tutor
- complete ASC Tutor Referral Form
- send form and potential peer tutor to ASC to schedule tutor training (approximately 45 minutes)
Once the tutor is trained, tutor and tutee will schedule tutor sessions. (3 to 4 hours per week)
