Mauston Campus

The Mauston Campus offers a variety of educational experiences, including GED/HSED, short-term training certificates, technical diplomas, and associate’s degree choices. Take classes here that transfer to programs at Western’s LaCrosse Campus, as well as the UW system and other colleges and universities. For those interested in Lifelong Learning , check out our non-credit courses. New courses include eBay Internet for Making Money, Sanitation Re-Certification, or Basic Computing and Windows.

Services for Students

  • Admissions testing – on-site testing twice a month. Mauston Campus testing schedule link.
  • Computer Lab – registered students are able to use the lab to assist with their coursework. All computers have high speed Internet access.
  • Counseling Services – a part-time counselor is available to help students with individual or personal counseling, career planning, class registration and/or testing issues.
  • Library Services – students are able to search the LaCrosse Campus library via the computer, request materials, and have them delivered to the Mauston Campus free of charge.
  • On-line textbook purchase
  • Registration Assistance – each semester the counselor hosts registration workshops to assist with the class scheduling process.
  • Tutoring – if you are struggling in a particular class, we can set you up with a tutor to assist you, provided you meet all the requirements.

Ways to Take Classes

  • Face to face: instructor and students are in a traditional setting at the same location
  • ITV (Interactive Television): students participate in coursework that is beamed to several different campuses at the same time. The instructor may or may not be at the campus you are attending. Students and instructors communicate via cameras and microphones.
  • Online (Internet): you communicate completely online with an instructor and fellow students that you may never meet in person.
  • Blended: part of the class is online and the other part is ITV. You’ll be required to come to the campus during the ITV sessions and then complete the remaining activities online.
