Western Emergency Text Messaging Notification Registration Page
Western Technical College strives to keep its students informed of any emergency announcements, including campus closings. In the event of an emergency, Western currently notifies its students via:
- The Web (westerntc.edu)
- Student email
- Local media, including television and radio
Western provides this emergency notification service to students, staff and faculty, free of charge. You must register and provide e-mail and/or cell phone information to participate in the Western emergency mass notification system. You must update e-mail addresses and cell phone numbers promptly if your contact information changes.
Western acknowledges, and you agree as a condition of service, that receipt of text messages by you is dependent upon a number of factors beyond the control of Western, including, but not limited to, the performance and reliability of your wireless carrier’s network and the volume of traffic on the network. Thus, Western does not warrant or assure the successful delivery of each message to each individual recipient.
Western, its administration, officers and employees, specifically disclaim all responsibility for any liability, loss injury or risk which is incurred as a direct or indirect result of the use of any of the services provided in this emergency mass notification program.
Western Text Alerts is an FCC CAN-SPAM compliant application. Your information will be kept private. Please check your cell phone plan for any text message fees your wireless provider may charge. You may change your message preferences or unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the links below.

If you would like to be notified of an emergency via text messaging, please
- complete the form below
- select your phone carrier
- list your cell phone number where you'd like to be notified
- Click the checkbox next to the campus you want to be notified about, and then click Subscribe or Unsubscribe for any of the campus locations you have checked. You can subscribe to more than one location.
When you are finished, click "submit." You will then be registered to receive emergency text messages directly on your cell phone.
Please choose your provider from the drop-down and select each list that you would like to subscribe/unsubscribe to. Choose "Subscribe" or "Unsubscribe" for each choice you make, then click submit to complete the process.
