Online Scholarship Application
Scholarship applications for current western students that will be taking core program classes in the fall are available August, due November 1 and awarded in January. Scholarship applications for new and/or high school students are available in January and due May 1. All scholarships are due at the Foundation Office, Administrative Center, 3rd floor. Scholarships other than Foundation scholarships are available throughout the year and can be found under the External Scholarship link.

You will need to know your Western Student ID to complete this application. Your Student ID can be found on your Student ID card, or your application and registration information that was sent to you by the Registrar's office.
The scholarship online form is best viewed with Internet Explorer 7.0 or later.
Proper spelling and punctuation is critical on the short answer portion of this form. Your responses
will be graded, so you may want to first compose your answers using a word
processor and check it for errors. Then you can
copy and paste each answer into the answer fields of this site.
Acronyms should be avoided unless the abbreviations
are first explained in full. Write out all association names unless
first explained.
The applicant must compose his/her answers to the
short answer portion of this application. Responses must be limited to 500 words or less.
Incomplete applications will be disregarded. Therefore, answer all questions, sign the signature sheet that will be generated at the end of the process, and submit it along with all other required materials.
The following materials are essential to a complete application package:
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): If you have not already done so, submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is used to determine financial need for Foundation Scholarships. Students who qualify for student loans have the option of accepting them, but it is not required.
a signed application with the applicant's social security number in the space provided (the applicant will be given a summary of their entered information at the end of the online application process and this summary must be printed)
a duplicate of all information entered for your own records
Two Scholarship Recommendation Forms: You must submit two Scholarship Recommendation Forms in signed and sealed envelopes. Current students must include one recommendation form from their Western program's core instructors. A core instructor is an instructor that teaches a class in the applicant's chosen course of study. Current High School Students must include a recommendation form from one of their High School instructor.
be prepared to furnish a copy of your most recent high school (or transferring college) transcripts and ACT scores if asked.

Late applications will not be accepted.
Applications must be postmarked or hand-delivered by
November 1st for current students or May 1st for new and/or high school students.

Deliver completed applications to the Western Foundation Office, Administrative Center, 3rd Floor (corner of 7th and Main Streets.)
