Remediation Policy:
General Anatomy and Physiology Repeat Policy (10806177)
Policy Effective Beginning Summer Semester 2012-2013 (1130)
Students dropping/withdrawing ("W") or failing ("F") General A&P will NOT be allowed to enroll in and/or repeat General A&P without completing one of the following courses with the grade requirement listed:
- Fundamentals of Anatomy & Physiology 10806175--Grade of "B" or better
- Body Structure & Function 10806120--Grade of "B" or better
- Principles of Biology 20806236--Grade of "C" or better
- General Chemistry 10806134--Grade of "C" or better
- College Chemistry 20806209--Grade of "C" or better
Students who successfully completed one of the courses listed above prior to enrolling in General A&P but did not pass at the established level must repeat the remediation course or successfully complete an alternate course from the list above before enrolling in General A&P for the second time.
Students who do not successfully complete ("C" grade or better) General A&P after two attempts, will not be eligible to re-enroll in the course. A student wishing to enroll for a third time must schedule an appeal meeting with the Dean of Health and Public Safety Division.
NOTE: The old policy stated that if a student was remediating (taking Fundamentals of A&P or Body Structure and Function because the student received an F-grade in Gen. A&P or withdrew from A&P) the student would need to get a grade of C or better to take Gen. A&P for a second time. And, we will grandfather any student who did receive a C or better prior to June 2012 in either Fundamentals of A&P or Body Structure and Function. However, if they haven’t remediated prior to June 2012, students who now take Fundamentals or Body Structure will need to receive a grade of B or better. This new grade requirement holds true even if they took General A&P under the old policy.

General Studies Requirements for Associate Degree in Applied Science
Associate degree programs are developed to assist persons preparing for, or advancing in, an occupation. The credit requirement range for General Studies is 21 to 30 credits.
