Student Readiness Training Home Page
Congratulations on your decision to enroll in an online or blended course at Western Technical College. You have been directed to this web page because our records show you have not successfully completed an online or blended course at Western before.
To prepare you for the online component of your course(s) and to help you be successful, we’ve created a series of five required training modules and some quizzes/tasks that will help ensure you’re ready for the start of the trimester. Keep in mind that you may have taken courses in the past that have used Blackboard as a supplement, but unless you have taken a class that is officially “blended” or “online,” this training is required.
If you need assistance completing these training modules, please contact a member of the Student Readiness Team at 608.785.9292 or email@example.com. Otherwise, if you are enrolled in classes for Summer 2015, please complete the training by 8:00 am on Monday, May 11, 2015. If you are enrolled in classes for Fall 2015, please complete the training by 8:00 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 to ensure you are able to access your online and/or blended course(s). Note: You only have to complete the training once.

This video shows you how to log on to Blackboard and provides a tour of a typical Blackboard class. Once you have taken the tour, login to Blackboard and complete the training. It takes about an hour and a half to work through the training.
To complete the online training, please log in to your Blackboard account by going to http://blackboard.westerntc.edu. Your username is your seven or nine digit student ID (all numbers). Your password is the password that you use to log in to MyWestern, your Western Student Email account and a Western computer when you are on campus. Note, the password for all of these systems is the same. There are a total of five modules in the training and each module has a short quiz or a task that signifies completion. You won't see the next module until the one you are working on is completed.
