At Western Technical College it's about the essential experience. You have many opportunities as a student to enjoy and immerse yourself in the essential experience. Our faculty members, who have all worked in their fields of expertise, bring their essential experience to you in the classroom. You get a learning experience that is hands-on and essential to area employers. The college community at Western also lends itself to experiential learning through student life activities. There are over 30 clubs and athletic teams at Western just waiting for you to join. These opportunities help you become an active campus community member, meet new people, share your ideas, and build your resume for the perfect job that's waiting for you after you have reached your educational goals.

Western Technical College attracts a diverse student population and is committed to an open-door policy for admission to the college for all prospective students who meet statutory requirements. Recognizing that students are diverse in educational preparation and that courses and programs at the college have varying levels of difficulty, admissions services are designed to provide the best match for each applicant's abilities, interests and aptitudes. Scholarships
Scholarship applications for current Western students are available August 1, due November 1 and awarded in January. Scholarship applications for new and/or high school students are available December 1 and due May 1. All scholarships are due at the Foundation Office, Administrative Center, 3rd floor. Scholarships other than Foundation scholarships are available throughout the year and can be found under the External Scholarship link at the top of the page on the scholarship website.

Select Career Path
Western Technical College offers 43 programs that lead to an associate in applied science degree. These programs are in four divisions: Business, Family and Consumer Sciences, Human Services, and Industrial Technologies. An advisory committee with members from the field that the program prepares students to enter guides each program. The committee ensures that program content is relevant to the current job market.
