Advanced Standing
The high school course or courses contain competencies that are recognized as equivalent to those in a technical college course. Students earn high school credit with potential to apply credit to a technical college.
Develop an Advanced Standing Articulation Agreement with Western
Review the curriculum for the Western course you would like to articulate below by clicking on the link. If a link is not provided, feel free to contact the instructor by the email or phone number provided.
After you review the curriculum and determine it matches closely with your curriculum, complete the High School Request for Articulation form and email or send it along with your curriculum directly to the Tech Prep Office by mid-February in order to be considered for the next academic school year.
Western instructors will review your information to determine whether or not the curriculum aligns. The high school will be notified that either an agreement will be developed or curriculum modifications are needed. Approval status will be communicated by the end of May.

Continuation Agreement Forms
September
Continuation agreement forms will be emailed by the Tech Prep office to high school School-to-Work Coordinators.
October
Continuation forms must be signed and returned to the Tech Prep office by October 19 in order to be considered valid for the current school year.
New Articulation Agreement Forms
February
Curriculum and Request for Articulation form must be sent to the Tech Prep office by February 15 for new agreements to be considered for the next academic year.
May
Approval status of new agreements will be communicated to the high school.
