Library Distance Education Services
Library services available to on-campus students are available to students taking Western courses over the web, students at Western extended campuses, and students working from home. Distance education students have the same borrowing privileges and access to the same materials as on-campus students.
Books, Videos, DVDs
Visit Western Catalog to explore our library holdings. We can't send materials directly to your house but we can deliver them to your local campus. Click here to read the Procedure for Requesting Books, Videos, and DVD's From The LaCrosse Campus.
Accessing Magazine, Journal and Newspaper Articles
Distance education students have access to the same Informational Databases as on-campus students. Instructions for off-campus access are included in the database descriptions.
Reference Help
Reference help is available by phone (daytime hours during the school year) by dialing 608.785.9406 or toll free within Wisconsin 800.322.9982. Reference help is also available via email library@westerntc.edu or Ask a Librarian.
Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan is the service whereby libraries borrow and lend books among each other. Since this service generally uses the regular mail, it takes time. Students will find that using their local library will be faster than having an item sent to Western Library and then sent on to you. If you are unsure, contact us at library@westerntc.edu or call the Circulation Desk at 608.785.9142
