Available on-campus and off-campus. This ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES database indexes over 200 academic journals, magazines, books, book reviews, reports, and government documents in areas such as agriculture, education, law, health and technology. It contains about 300,000 citations, often with extensive abstracts, but only a small number of the articles are available in full text.

Teacher Reference Center

Available on-campus and off-campus. TRC provides indexing and abstracts, but no full text, for nearly 300 periodicals and peer-reviewed journals from the field of EDUCATION. Topics include Assessment, Best Practices, Continuing Education, Current Pedagogical Research, Curriculum Development, Elementary Education, Higher Education, Instructional Media, Language Arts, Literacy Standards, School Administration, Science & Mathematics, and Teacher Education.

RAB Instant Backgrounds are terrific sources of marketing and demographic statistics from 200 businesses and industries; but the database is slightly difficult to access, follow these directions:

  • Click on the RAB Instant Background link above -(Keep this page active so you can refer back to it)
  • Click on SIGN IN
  • Type “library@westerntc.edu” in USER NAME
  • Type “rabuser” in PASSWORD
  • Click GO or hit the ENTER key
  • Click in the FOR ADVERTISERS box
  • Click on INSTANT BACKGROUNDS at the bottom of the screen
  • Select an INDUSTRY and click on the SUBMIT button.
