How Healthy is Our Campus?
The Live Well Student Committee uses the National College Health Assessment (NCHA), a nationally recognized survey, to collect precise data about students' health habits, behaviors and perceptions. It was implemented in the fall of 2008 and 2011. The data is used to develop health programs and improve services for all students at Western. The survey itself takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. Questions include a wide range of health issues including but not limited to:
- Alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use
- Sexual health
- Weight, nutrition, and exercise
- Mental health
- Personal safety and violence
Starting October 6th 2014, all Western students carrying 6+ credits will again have the opportunity to participate in the National College Health Assessment web survey (NCHA-Web).
The survey is voluntary, and strictly confidential.
If you choose to complete the NCHA survey, you will be automatically enrolled to win a number of $50 Western Gift Cards. an Xbox One w/ Kinect or an iPad Air! (valued at $500).
For questions or concerns, please contact the Live Well Student Committee Chair - Cindy Kartman.
