Western Marketing students help bridge the gap for soldiers

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Wisconsin Marketing & Management Association’s Civic Consciousness Project, Operation: Bridging the Gap!, is reaching out to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan this holiday season. The fundraiser will provide food and snacks to Wisconsin troops currently serving overseas.
The troops are in need of comfort foods like mixed nuts and beef jerky, hearty canned soups, snack chips and cookies. In addition, Wisconsin troops have a wish list for the following items: fruit snacks, coffee, Gardetto’s, Doritos’s, Pringles, popcorn, Kool-aid, Gatorade, hot cocoa, hot cider packets, Slim Jims, ravioli, stews, trail mix, prepackaged, cookies, Easy-Mac, boxed cereal, canned tuna & chicken, dried fruit, peanut butter and jelly (no glass jars), and AA batteries.
The fundraiser concludes Dec. 3rd. Donations can be made at area locations, including People’s Food Co-op, K-mart, Cenex, Sir Speedy, Ship Shape Car Wash, and at Western Technical College’s Kumm Center and Admissions Office. Personal pick-up of items also available.
