Western Technical College is holding an open house for its Welcome Center addition, the new “front door” to the La Crosse Campus. The event will be Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at 400 7th St. N. Tours and refreshments will be provided throughout the open house, which is open to the public.

Completed over the summer, the Welcome Center is the college’s hub for admissions, counseling, and registration. It also houses the Financial Aid Office, the Cashier’s Office, Business Office, Minority Services, Disability Services, Veterans Services, Student Employment Services, Opportunity Center, and Assessment Services.

“Previously, students had to visit up to 12 different locations to enroll at Western,” said Denise Vujnovich, vice president of student services. “As part of an initiative to streamline the process, the Welcome Center was designed to be a one-stop shop for the college. We took input from students and staff to come up with the best solution for everyone, and we’re excited to let the public see the result.”
