The Tri-Campus Community Advocacy Group is hosting a La Crosse Mayoral Candidate Forum on Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 8:00-9:30 a.m., at Western Technical College, in room 200 of the Academic Resource Center, 400 7th St. N. The forum will consist of a candidate panel discussion moderated by Lee Rasch, president of Western Technical College. The event is free and open to the public.

The Tri-Campus Advocacy Group was developed by leaders of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Viterbo University, and Western Technical College, and its membership includes students and community leaders concerned about creating a safe La Crosse.

Students from the three colleges are formulating the questions and will provide them to the candidates prior to the forum. Questions will focus on student safety, wellness, and other legislative issues.

“The goal of the event is to provide an opportunity for students to be involved in local political issues,” said Denise Vujnovich, vice president of Student Services at Western. “They make up a significant percentage of the constituents in La Crosse, and the forum is a great opportunity for them to find out how the future mayor will address their needs and concerns.”
