Western Technical College’s Business and Industry Services Division is offering a series of seminars to keep local businesses up to date on human resources trends and training. The seminars, collectively called “HR Lunch ‘n Learn,” will be held various Tuesdays on the Mauston Campus.

“These Lunch and Learn sessions are part of a pilot program for increasing professional development offerings to the Juneau county area,” said Gary Kirking, Business and Industry Services consultant at Western. “The Juneau County Economic Development Corporation and the Greater Mauston Area Development Corporation have supported our collaborative efforts to enhance the business and economic climate.”

Tuesday, Feb. 24, 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., “If Not You, then Who?” will look for ways to fill the gaps created when employees leave or retire. Seminar shows how to plan today for the transfer of skills and knowledge from your current employees to the next generation.

Tuesday, March 24, 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., “Dealing with Challenging Employees,” provides tools to help you understand difficult behavior and develop strategies to better cope with and eliminate the barriers created by difficult people.

Tuesday, April 21, Noon-1:30 p.m., “Document, Document, Document,” will show how to document incidents, accidents, and behaviors so the truth is indisputable.
