Western continues Lean certificate training as part of grant activities

Western Technical College’s Business and Industry Services is offering a 5S/Visual Workplace workshop to help manufacturing businesses streamline their processes. The training is offered as part of a Community-based Job Training grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. Workshops will be held from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at several Western campuses throughout the coming months:
Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Lunda Center in La Crosse, 319 7th St. N.
Monday, Nov. 9 in Black River Falls, 808 Red Iron Rd.
Tuesday, Nov. 10 at the Lunda Center in La Crosse, 319 7th St. N.
Thursday, Nov. 12 in Tomah, 120 East Milwaukee St.
Tuesday, Nov. 17 in Viroqua, 220 South Main St.
5S/Visual Workplace creates a work environment that is clean, well organized and efficient. It provides organizations with a rapid, visible achievement while preparing the workforce for other advanced improvement efforts. The workshop will demonstrate how to employ the 5S methods and implement visual workplace techniques in manufacturing operations.
