Western students host community Family Fun Night
Published on Wednesday, April 07, 2010
The public is invited to join Western Technical College’s Early Childhood Education students in a “Think Spring” family fun night on Saturday, April 17, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the South Side Neighborhood Center, 1300 S. 6th St., La Crosse. The event will feature flower planting, games, food, and outdoor fun.
“This is a service learning project for our students. It provides a great experience for our students to actually plan and carry out a family event while offering a wonderful opportunity for area families,” said Tracy Craker, Western Early Childhood Education instructor. “Students learn a great deal about working with other community resources as well as communication and organizational skills. It is also a celebration of the national Week of the Young Child.”
The event is sponsored by the La Crosse Park and Recreation Department. Cost is $3 per person. Registration is encouraged by calling the South Side Neighborhood Center at 608.789.8298 or online at https://parks.cityoflacrosse.org.
