Western food programs host fundraiser for WAFER

Students in Western Technical College’s foods programs are sponsoring “Grilling for those in Need” on Thursday, May 6, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the courtyard between Coleman and Kumm Centers on the La Crosse campus.
The students will be grilling brats, burgers, and pork loin sandwiches, and serving potato salad and root beer. All proceeds from the event will benefit WAFER food pantry of La Crosse.
The event is an end-of-the-year celebration for students in the Culinary Management and Food Production Specialist programs. Throughout the second semester, these students run the Corner Bistro, a restaurant on campus that is open to the public on Thursdays. The cook-out marks the final day of serving before the end of the semester.
