Committee appoints Board members

The Western Technical College District Board Appointment Committee, consisting of the 11 County Board Chairs in the Western Technical College District, recently appointed one new member and reappointed two current members to Western’s District Board. The terms of the three appointments begin July 1, 2010 and extend through June 30, 2013.
Dennis Treu, of Sparta, Wis., was appointed to serve as an Additional Member on the District Board. Treu is the managing member/broker/owner of Century 21 Gold Award Homes LLC and a managing member of TreuSolutions LLC, a company providing strategic planning, business development, and entrepreneurial services to small and mid-sized companies. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from UW-Parkside and his master’s degree in Business Administration from Lake Forest College in Illinois.
Dan Hanson, of La Crosse, an incumbent candidate, was re-appointed to serve as an Employee Member on the District Board. Hanson has served on the board since 2004. He is the community services director for the Great Rivers United Way.
Lynn Erickson, of Mauston, also an incumbent candidate, was re-appointed to serve as an Employer Member on the board. Erickson joined the Western Technical College District Board in 2007. She is a Vice President/Business Banker at M & I (Marshall and Ilsley) Bank in Mauston.
Appointed District Board members serve on a voluntary basis and are not paid. The District Board must be organized to represent employees, employers, and the general public at large throughout the district; one member must be a public school administrator and one member an elected official. The Western District Board is responsible for the administration of vocational, technical, and adult educational programs and services in the district as authorized by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board according to state legislation.
