Free showcase on employee training ROI

Western Technical College’s Business and Industry Services Division (BIS) will be sponsoring a free Discovery Showcase entitled, “Finding the ‘Pot o’ Gold’ When Investing in Your Workforce.” The session will held be on St. Patrick’s Day, Thursday, March 17, from 7:00-9:00 a.m. in the Lunda Center, 319 7th St. N., La Crosse.
There are many ways for companies to invest in employees. This session will focus on the return gained from dollars spent on employee performance improvement; whether it is through work flow analysis, workplace layout, training, or system developments. The session will demonstrate how Western can help businesses identify employee development needs and implement a custom designed plan to improve performance.
The showcase will include:
• Needs assessments - What they are and how they work
• Return on Investment (ROI)- How to calculate your return
• Getting the best value for your investment
Session facilitator, Steve McCombs, is a performance consultant from Western’s BIS Division. He has over 20 years of experience as a consultant and facilitator in the health care, manufacturing, television, construction and education fields. He has been a regular contributor to Small Business Times and his writing has also appeared in Training Magazine, American Society for Training and Development Journal, In Business, Tactics, and The Business Journal.
