Western Technical College will host the second annual “Rock the Block” event on Friday, Sept. 16, from 6:00-11:00 p.m. in the La Crosse Campus Cleary Courtyard. Featuring four live bands, food, and a variety of activities, the event creates an alcohol-free alternative to the downtown entertainment scene. Open to anyone, admission is $1 for guests, and Western students, staff, and alumni are free.

Gates open at 6:00 p.m. with Big E inflatables and carnival games, a caricaturist, and a magician providing fun for the whole family. The music line-up starts with Nick Venturella, an acoustic singer/songwriter, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. T.U.G.G. will supply reggae music from 7:00-8:00 p.m., Scratch Track brings Hip Hop/Pop from 8:00-9:00 p.m., and then Monkey Wrench will rock from 9:00-11:00 p.m. The new food court, Union Market, will be open until 9:00 p.m. providing food for purchase.

“There is a need in La Crosse for a place to enjoy music and entertainment in a safe manner, and Western students voted to provide funding to make it happen,” said Gina Davis, Student Government president. “We invite everyone to come down and check it out. It’s going to be a great time!”
