Student restaurant open to the public

Western Technical College’s student-run restaurant is open for business. The Union Bistro, located on the first floor of the Kumm Center, 400 6th St. N., La Crosse, is open to the public on Thursdays from 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. throughout the spring semester.
The eatery is run by Culinary Management and Food Production Specialist students and gives them an opportunity to experience the different aspects of operating a restaurant. The students learn everything from running the cash register to preparing and serving the meals.
Menus for Western Corner Bistro were produced by Menu Design students and selected by a team of well-known area chefs. The entrees change at the mid-semester point, but will include a sandwich, soup, salad, pasta, seafood, and chicken option. Desserts are also available.
Restaurant reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling Margaret Ninneman at 608.785.4706 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to the restaurant, the students also take part in running a bakery. Bakery items are sold in the Union Bakery, Fridays from 10:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. (unless sold out earlier). The bakery is also open to the public.
