Western Technical College to graduate 1,378 students

On Friday, May 11, Western Technical College will hold a commencement ceremony at the La Crosse Center, located in downtown La Crosse, honoring 1,378 graduates from throughout Western’s district. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m., in the North Hall of the La Crosse Center.
Of the graduates, 654 will receive associate’s degrees and 318 will receive technical diplomas. There will be 375 graduating from the Certified Nursing Assistant program, and 25 will receive other certificates. An additional 6 will graduate from the apprenticeship program in various technical fields.
Keynote speaker during the ceremony will be Rose Levendoski, a 1970 Business Machines/Accounting graduate. She and her husband Mike (1976 Electronics graduate) were recently named the 2012 Distinguished Alumni by Western’s Alumni Association. Rose is the manager of compensation and benefits at Logistics Health, Inc. Mike retired as a performance technician at Dairyland Power.
Western Technical College is part of the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS). Each year, more than 400,000 Wisconsin residents receive education and training from the state’s 16 technical colleges.
