Today’s automated manufacturing involves a variety of circuits and devices operated through programmable logic controllers. Western Technical College’s Business and Industry Services division is offering a 19-week, high-intensity training that introduces these controllers along with basic electrical concepts.

The Industrial Electronic Skills Institute begins Tuesday, May 21, and runs Tuesdays and Wednesdays through Sept. 25, from 8:00 a.m.-Noon on Western’s La Crosse campus.

The training is partially funded by the United States Department of Labor, Employment Training Administration’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training Grant program, which provides 53 percent of the total cost. The remainder of the cost will be covered by the participants.

Registration deadline is Tuesday, May 14. For more information, or to register, contact Britt Pagor at 608.785.9225 or pagorb@westerntc.edu.
