Construction is underway at Western Wisconsin Technical College-Independence Campus. Crews broke ground last week on a $740,000 remodeling project, which includes a 4,500-square-foot addition.

The renovation and expansion will allow for additional instructional space, a new computer lab, a health sciences room, a new interactive television studio, and a larger student study area. There will also be an expanded area for the Goal Oriented Adult Learning (GOAL) programs, which include High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), General Educational Development (GED), Adult High School, and Alternative High School.

Construction is expected to be completed in March, 2006. Classes will continue at the campus as scheduled.
