Western Technical College-Viroqua Campus offers programs that allow participants to earn an associate’s degree while continuing to work full- or part-time. An information session about five of the programs will be held Monday, July 31, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Western’s Viroqua Campus. The public is invited to attend this free event.

The programs that will be discussed include Accounting After Hours, Human Resources-Business Administration, Marketing, Office Support Specialist and Administrative Assistant, and Supervisory Management.

The Accounting After Hours program provides students with the foundation in theory and practice for entry-level positions as accountants. Courses are offered one evening per week as a cohort group – meaning students will attend classes with the same team from start to finish. Classes will meet on Wednesday nights at the Viroqua Campus beginning this fall.

The Human Resources-Business Administration program covers the seven key areas of human resources: safety, employment law, training, HR management, compensation administration, international human resources, and staffing. A new cohort will be starting this fall.

New to the Viroqua campus in fall 2006 will be a two-year Marketing program. Skills acquired in the program prepare students for careers in customer relations, advertising, merchandising, professional selling, and management.

The Office Support Specialist and Administrative Assistant program is being offered in a new format where a student interested in learning office skills can attend class one night per week starting in the fall.

The Supervisory Management program is designed for people interested in acquiring or improving managerial or supervisory skills with a business emphasis. The cohort group meets for accelerated courses at the Viroqua Campus on Wednesday nights. This program can also be completed through blended/ITV or online courses.
