Barbara Prindiville, Ph.D., vice president of Instruction at Western Technical College, will soon be heading east to become the president of Waukesha County Technical College in Waukesha, Wis. The announcement came Monday from the WCTC District Board, naming Prindiville as the next president effective August 14.

“Western will be losing a great leader with Barbara’s departure,” said Lee Rasch, president of Western Technical College. “But, we are excited for her as she pursues this next step in her career. WCTC will certainly benefit from Barbara’s experience in administrative leadership and the technical college system.”

Prindiville has been the vice president of Instruction at Western for four years. Prior to her current position she served as the Education Director of Nursing, Allied Health and Human Services at the Wisconsin Technical College Systems Office in Madison. She also has experience as Dean of Service Occupations at Blackhawk Technical College in Janesville and the Director of Publications, Marketing and Conferences for the UW-Madison Center on Education and Work.

“It was not an easy decision to leave Western,” Prindiville said. “I have really developed a connection with the staff and faculty and the communities that we serve.
Working at Western has been a great experience, and I appreciate the support they have shown. Lee Rasch is a wonderful mentor for me on this leadership path, and I’m pleased that I will continue working with him on initiatives at the state level.”

According to Rasch, an interim vice president of Instruction will be named in the near future, and plans for hiring a replacement are currently being discussed.
