Western Technical College’s Business and Industry Services Division is offering a series of workshops and training opportunities for area businesses.

“Web Page Design” will be held Mondays, Sept. 11-Oct. 2, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. (12 hours total), at Western’s Black River Falls Campus. Participants will use FrontPage software to build a Web page, add images, create links, and maintain pages. Advanced techniques such as interactive buttons, registration/confirmation forms, photo galleries, scrolling marquees, and banner ads will also be covered.

“Public Relations Principles: Enhancing Your Image and Community Presence” will be held Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 8:00 a.m.-Noon, at the La Crosse Campus. This seminar will explore successful planning, development, implementation, and measurement of public relations activities. Participants will analyze stakeholders in public relations and the role of various media professionals in the execution of public relations plans.

“Supervision Essentials” will be held Tuesday, Sept. 19, from 9:00 a.m.-Noon at the
La Crosse Campus and Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Tomah Campus. Designed for new supervisors, this seminar will introduce skills necessary for success. Skills covered include communication, planning, delegating, maintaining a positive attitude, and more.

“Motivating Employees” will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27, from 9:00 a.m.-Noon at the La Crosse Campus. This seminar is designed for managers and supervisors at all levels to help them recognize that not all individuals are motivated the same. This understanding can be used in developing steps for employee performance improvement.

“Adobe InDesign” will be held Tuesday, Sept. 26 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at the
La Crosse Campus. This seminar is designed for anyone who uses the Adobe InDesign CS2 software. Topic covered will include style sheets, tables, tabs, and colors.
