Western Technical College to host annual Economic and Rural Development Tour

Western Technical College-Tomah and Viroqua Campuses will be hosting an Economic and Rural Development Tour on Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The annual tour will visit businesses in the Vernon County area, including Chaseburg Manufacturing in Chaseburg; Esofea Gardens/Bad Axe Country Club in Coon Valley; Elegant Stone in Viroqua; The Meating Place in Viroqua; Sibby’s Ice Cream in Westby; Temple Theatre in Viroqua; and Vernon Vineyards in Viroqua.
Presentations will include a panel of Viroqua area residents, including Fred Nelson, community-minded activist; Garith Steiner, CEO of Vernon Memorial Hospital; Michelle Bakkestuen, representative from Organic Valley Cooperative; Ingrid Mahan, Viroqua Partners executive director; John Zehrer, owner of Star Valley Flowers; and June Pedretti, expert in Vernon County round barns.
Cost is $35 and includes lunch, refreshments, materials, and transportation. Buses will pick up participants at the Western Technical College campus in La Crosse at 7:30 a.m. and return at 5:00 p.m.
