Comedian Mary Mack scheduled to perform at Western
Published on Tuesday, October 31, 2006
Mary Mack, a folk humorist, will be performing in the Kumm Center Cafeteria at Western Technical College in La Crosse on Monday, Nov. 13, from 12:15-1:15 p.m. Western’s student government is sponsoring this event, which is free and open to the public.
Originally from Northern Wisconsin, Mack is currently touring college campuses around the Midwest. Her humor recounts stories of life as a former polka band leader, music teacher, and all-around confused individual. Mack's performance has gained recognitions such as winner of Bill Word's California Funny Female (Orange County, Calif. 2005), third in "Funniest Person in the Twin Cities" at Acme Comedy Company (Minneapolis, Minn. 2003), and showcase winner for NashvilleStandUp.com (Nashville, Tenn. 2004). A regular at the Hollywood Improv and a favorite in the BORED Music Comedy Festival (Los Angeles, CA 2004), Mack and her audiences often can be found partaking in grown up sing-alongs about small-town life.
