The Western Technical College Foundation recently selected James Hohlfelder, of Viroqua, for a three-year term on the Foundation Board.

Hohlfelder brings extensive banking experience to his board position. He started his banking career in his hometown of Elkhorn, Wis. in 1971 as a bookkeeper and teller at State Bank of Elkhorn. He later served as installment loan representative and assistant cashier before being named assistant vice president in 1983. Hohlfelder joined the State Bank of Viroqua in Oct. 1986 as vice president in charge of loan administration and in Sept. 1992 was elected president and chief executive officer.

A 1985 graduate from the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Hohlfelder has served on several banking association boards. He is also involved in many community organizations, including Vernon Memorial Healthcare, Inc., Viroqua Area Foundation, Viroqua Development Association, Vernon Economic Development Association, Inc., Viroqua Redevelopment Authority, and the Viroqua Police and Fire Commission.
