Western Technical College’s paralegal and government students are hoping to give fellow college students and the community one final look at the La Crosse County judicial candidates. All six candidates have been invited to participate in a forum at Western on Monday, April 2, from Noon-2:00 p.m., in room 200 of the Academic Resource Center, 400 7th St. N., La Crosse.

The forum will be broken up into three segments, and anyone interested can attend any or all of them.
• Noon-12:30 p.m. will be an informal opportunity to speak individually with the candidates.
• 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m., brief introduction of each candidate, followed by a formal question and answer session.
• 1:30-2:00 p.m., the floor is open to questions from the audience.

Western students who are involved in organizing the event will be handing out a fact sheet containing candidate responses to questions that have been sent to them prior to the forum. The students will also prepare the questions for the formal question and answer session.

“Our main goal is to generate student interest in politics and instill a sense of responsibility to vote,” said Deb Walsh, a supervisory management instructor at Western who helped coordinate the event. “We are opening it up to the community to give everyone the opportunity for a last look prior to voting.”
