The Beta Nu Chi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Western Technical College is participating in Project Graduation … Feed a Body, Feed a Mind, an initiative designed to help alleviate hunger and illiteracy in the community. Graduating students and their guests are asked to bring non-perishable food items or books to the college graduation ceremony to be held Friday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the La Crosse Center. Collection barrels will be positioned near the box office. All donations will be given to Place of Grace and The Salvation Army of La Crosse.
“Such a simple gesture of bringing a canned food item or book to our commencement ceremony can help improve the quality of life in our community,” said Lee Rasch, Western Technical College president. “We are excited to have this opportunity.”
“As student leaders within our college, we are pleased to bring this nationwide initiative to Western,” said Dan Rooney, Phi Theta Kappa advisor at Western. “We are proud to give graduating students the chance to give back to the community that has supported them throughout their college experience.”
