Western Technical College will host free welding information sessions to provide information about welding careers and the training options available at the college.

Sessions will be held throughout the day on Thursday, Aug. 7, from 7:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., and 6:00-7:30 p.m., at the Lunda Center, 319 N. Seventh St., La Crosse. Topics covered at each session will include, welding careers and salaries, options at Western starting this fall and spring, and scholarship opportunities. At each of the sessions participants will have the opportunity to meet the faculty and try a virtual welder.

Thanks to funding through the Department of Workforce Development Blueprint for Prosperity Plan, Western will be adding part-time evening welding classes held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, from 3:00-7:30 p.m., starting after Labor Day. Information on this opportunity will be discussed at the information sessions.
