Frontline Services Pathway Certificate

The Frontline Service Certificate is a one-term, two-course certificate designed to equip the learner with the problem solving, customer service, and professionalism skills necessary to be successful in a wide range of frontline customer service roles, including front desk and receptionist support, retail sales, and counter and rental clerk positions.
The Frontline Service Certificate is an entry point into the Customer Service and Sales Pathway. The pathway builds into a Customer Service Certificate and a Sales Representative Technical Diploma that ladder into an associate degree. This laddered approach allows students to earn business-recognized credentials that lead to jobs and, if the student is interested, to progress through the pathway to career advancement and qualifications for higher paying, higher skilled work.
This Program was created as part of the INTERFACE PROJECT
Wisconsin's 16 technical colleges were awarded a $23.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor in 2013 with the goal of assisting TAA-eligible workers, Veterans, and other adults in obtaining education and joining the workforce, to build a pipeline of workers in IT- related career fields.
If you are interested in this program you may be eligible for priority of service if you are a eligible veteran or spouse. Priority of service would mean that you would not have to pay tuition and you would be admitted before others.
Definition of an eligible veteran:
A veteran who is who is entitled to receive priority of service is a person who has served at least one day in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released from service under any condition other than a condition classified as dishonorable is a covered person. This definition includes Reserve units and National Guard units activated for Federal Service.
Definition of an eligible spouse of a veteran:
Spouse of any of the following:
- spouse of any veteran who died of a service‐connected disability;
- A spouse of any member of the Armed Forces serving on active duty who, at the time of application for the priority, is listed in one or more of the following categories and has been so listed for a total of more than 90 days; Missing in action; Captured in the line of duty by a hostile force; or Forcibly detained or interned in the line of duty by a foreign government or power.
- A spouse of any veteran who has a total disability resulting from a service‐connected disability, as evaluated by the Department of Veterans Affairs; or
- A spouse of any veteran who died while a disability was in existence.
