Program Overview
Topics in this certificate include mechanical drive components and systems with emphasis on selection, application and proper installation techniques. Machine safety, torque, power, efficiency, bearings and couplings are also addressed. Characteristics of several drive system types are discussed including v-belt drives, chain drives and gear drives. Installation, alignment and maintenance of various drive systems are performed utilizing industrial equipment. The math required for this certificate is included in the Electricity Fundamentals Certificate so therefore Certificate #1 must be completed prior to attempting this coursework.
