Western Technical College provides a wide variety of course offerings for public safety personnel in Law Enforcement, Fire Service and Emergency Medical Service (EMS), to help them develop, improve or maintain their skills and knowledge of their profession. Offerings range from entry level academies to specific task and operation related certification classes.

Western strives to meet student and employer needs related to both course offerings and delivery options.

Our instructors bring years of career experience to the classroom. Many of our instructors are still active in their respective fields bringing the most current techniques regionally and nationally back to the learning environment. They are committed to providing high quality, hands-on education that will help you achieve your learning goals.

We know you're busy - you are a college student, an employee, a parent, a volunteer. You need classes that are convenient with locations and time offerings that fit around your personal schedule. Western offers classes at both the Sparta Training Facility and La Crosse Campus and also provides many courses at agency locations. Night and weekend classes, as well as blended-online classes, to supplement the normal Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm offerings.
