Western Technical College in Viroqua will hold a Grand Opening event for the newly renovated facility at 220 South Main St., on Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 1:00-3:30 p.m. A brief ribbon-cutting ceremony will start at 1:00, followed by an open house with refreshments and tours of the facility. The events are free and open to the public.
Remodeling of the Viroqua location started in Aug., 2013 and was completed in two phases. The first phase focused on classroom spaces and a state-of-the-art nursing area and sim lab. The second phase included remodeling office spaces, a partner suite, and construction of a lobby that connects with the McIntosh Memorial Library. Work concluded with a newly paved parking lot.
“We are extremely excited to show the community this new facility,” said Jennifer Brave, Western’s director of Regional Learning Centers. “There are students using the classrooms, our partners are in their new spaces, and the final touches are in place. We’re proud of what we have to offer in downtown Viroqua and can’t wait to show it off.”
