LA CROSSE, Wis., December 1, 2022 – Three Western Technical College employees were recognized for their commitment to student success at a college meeting earlier this year.

The recognition is part of Western’s first-ever employee awards, which honors instructional excellence, first-choice service, and living Western’s culture. Western employees were asked to nominate their coworkers for the three awards throughout the year. In total, 30 employees were nominated. A team lead by Western’s Human Resources staff selected the award finalists.

The 2022 award winners were:

2022 First Choice Coworker Award: Becky Banasik, College Connections and Experience Associate

2022 Living our Culture Award: Shari Berry, Physical Therapist Assistant program instructor

2022 Instructional Excellence Award: Amy Fuchsteiner, Math instructor

Each recipient received an award to keep, as well as $250 being donated in their names to the Western Technical College Foundation to be allocated how they choose.

“We felt it was really important to honor the hard work our coworkers do each and every day,” said Western President Roger Stanford. “In reality, every single one of our coworkers could be nominated for these awards, but these recipients really stood out for their commitment to our students. We are so incredibly lucky.”
