LA CROSSE, Wis., May 16, 2018 – Western Technical College Communication Skills instructor Tracy Helixon recently authored Caleb’s Lighthouse, a children’s book about the relationship between a boy and a local lighthouse.
The story is inspired from the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, located in Door County, Wisconsin. It follows the journey of one family and the lighthouse they lived in for several years. Over time, new technology forces the lighthouse to close, but it doesn’t end one boy’s love for his family home.
“Eagle Bluff Lighthouse in Door County is such a special place, so I’m honored to share a story inspired by my visits there,” said Helixon. “I’ve learned so much through the process of writing this book, and I’m grateful to bring those lessons to the classroom when working with my Western students.”
This is Helixon’s second published children’s book. Her first, Little Isaac’s Big Adventure, was published in 2012.
Caleb’s Lighthouse can be found online at Amazon and Barnes and Noble, as well as www.guardianangelpublishing.com. The book will also soon be available at Pearl Street Books in La Crosse.
Helixon will be hosting a reading of her book on Saturday, June 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Pearl Street Books, 323 Pearl St., La Crosse.
