LA CROSSE, Wis., Aug. 30, 2016 – Western Technical College ranks in the top 3 percent of the nation’s community and technical colleges, according to WalletHub, a personal finance website. That’s up 3 percent from last year.
In a survey released on Aug. 22, WalletHub compared 821 community and technical colleges across three key dimensions, including cost and financing, education outcomes, and career outcomes. Western ranks number 22 out of 821, which is up from number 41 out of 670 colleges last year.
“This recognition indicates that we’re living up to our mission of providing relevant, high-quality education to our region,” said Lee Rasch, Western president. “We work closely with our local employers and take pride in the high job placement rate of our graduates.”
The WalletHub analysis draws, in part, on data that is reported annually in the national Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE), conducted by the University of Texas at Austin.
