LA CROSSE, Wis., March 3, 2020 – Western Technical College, in partnership with UW-La Crosse and Winona State, have been named a Center for Sustainability by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE).
The collaboration, formally titled the Driftless Region Sustainability in Education Project, will work with the region to develop workshops and professional development opportunities for educators to infuse sustainability practices into curriculums.
“Efforts like these require strong collaboration across various degrees and organizations,” said Casey Meehan, Director of Sustainability and Resiliency at Western. “This designation will allow us to provide the essential tools to implementing sustainability-focused education across the area.”
