LA CROSSE, Wis., March 17, 2020 – In guidance with the latest CDC recommendations regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Western Technical College is announcing a number of changes and cancelations for the following weeks.
Western’s Learning Commons, including library services, will be closing at 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17 until further notice. They will continue to offer online assistance to students and employees.
Western’s Tax Assistance event, originally scheduled for March 21 and April 4, have been canceled. At this time, organizers are encouraging individuals who are able to file taxes via www.myfreetaxes.com.
Western’s Student Run Help Desk will resume under a limited format beginning next Monday, March 23. Services will be available online and over the phone only. The desk will remain running on Mondays from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Thursdays from 3:00-6:00 p.m., and on Fridays from 9:00 a.m.-noon. Students can still assist with computer software training and general troubleshooting by visiting https://studenthelp.westerntc.edu/portal. Western is not accepting EWaste at this time.
Community welding workshops that were originally scheduled for March 24 and April 14 have been canceled.
