
LA CROSSE, Wis., June 25, 2019 – Western Technical College’s Juan Jimenez was recently recognized for his work in reviewing the third edition of Course-Based Learning Assistance Best Practice Guidelines, literature used by the National Organization for Student Success as the standards for accreditation of peer learning programs by colleges and universities around the country.
Jimenez is currently the associate dean for the General Studies division at Western, a position he’s held since 2017. Prior to his current role, Jimenez was the associate dean for the Learner Support and Transition division at Western. He also served as a math educator in rural Wisconsin for several years, and continues to serve on several educational, philanthropic, and volunteering organizations.
The guidelines were first released in 1995, and is used to help professional educators improve their campus peer learning programs, including student outcomes and increased persistence to graduation.
