Architecture is a blend of art and science, of beauty and practicality. As an architectural technician, you will learn how to design residential and commercial buildings that are not only functional and fit into their environments, but also how to build them economically. Consider this program if you have excellent computer skills and a strong interest in building and design. Heavy emphasis is placed on Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Computer Aided Design (CAD), with the practical aspects of choosing building materials, estimating, structural principles, and building systems also covered. A capstone project takes the student from preliminary building proposals through the preparation of construction documents.
*Please note that the delivery method for fall courses may change as the COVID-19 situation unfolds. Our goal is to ensure that teaching and learning happens in a safe environment. We will communicate updates as quickly as possible.
