Western Technical College’s Business and Industry Services Division is offering the following workshops and training opportunities at the La Crosse Campus in March:

“Work Productively” Wednesday, March 5, 9:00 a.m.-Noon. Learn tips to help employees complete projects within a specified time frame.

“Finding & Keeping the Right People” Tuesday, March 11, 9:00 a.m.-Noon. Discover tactics for your organization to use to hire talented top-performing employees and better yet, tips to develop and keep your existing staff.

“Maintain a Safe Work Environment” Thursday, March 13, 9:00 a.m.-Noon. Covers part of the Core Productivity Skills, which are designed to give your business a competitive edge by optimizing individual performance. Participants will learn to identify and correct unsafe conditions, carry out safety procedures, and maintain an organized, clutter free work area.

“Adapt to Change” Tuesday, March 18, 9:00 a.m.-Noon. Learn how to respond quickly to unexpected events, contribute to innovative solutions, and think critically.

“Introduction to Disc®” Tuesday, March 25, 9:00 a.m.-Noon. The DiSC® is a model of human behavior that helps people understand themselves in relation to others. It is a valuable tool to enhance communication, teambuilding, conflict management, customer service and sales productivity.

“Manage Conflict Using DiSC®” Wednesday, March 26, 9:00 a.m.-Noon. This seminar will help participants understand their reactions to conflict and how these reactions affect those around them. Participants will leave with an understanding of other conflict styles and skills for managing conflict. Prerequisite: Introduction to DiSC®.

“Power Point” Thursday, March 27, 1:30-4:30 p.m. Learn basic skills needed for developing professional presentations using PowerPoint.
