Western Technical College’s Business and Industry Services Division is partnering with the Independence Campus to offer a series of workshops for professional women.

“Becoming an Assertive, Professional Woman!” will be held Wednesday, April 16, from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. with presenter Roxanne Smothers. This seminar will focus on how women can become assertive without being labeled. The seminar will provide strategies for turning indecisiveness into assertiveness; how to say no and be comfortable with it; keeping situations under control; how assertiveness changes with age; understanding and working with different personalities; how to avoid internalizing everything and how to thrive with an assertive approach. Cost is $85 and includes all materials and lunch.

“Accepting Yourself as a Professional Woman” is offered on Wednesday, April 30, from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. with presenter Roxanne Smothers. This seminar will focus on successful tips to thrive in the professional arena. It will teach participants to use emotions to their advantage; learn to support one another; learn from conflict; learn how to use effective body language and voice control; and learn that women don’t have to copy men to succeed. Cost is $85 and includes all materials and lunch.
